As of 1 October 2019, the city had an estimated population of 47,929 in 21,805 households, and a population density of 4,578 persons per km². The total area of the city was 10.47 square kilometres (4.04 sq mi). Iwakura city is famous for its "Cherry Blossom Festival" which mostly takes place around the end of March every year. Iwakura's cherry blossom is located at the symbol of the city "Gojo river" and lists as one of the top 100 best cherry blossom spots in Japan. |
